Donation eases end of life burden for Nanaimo care home clients

NANAIMO — Eden Gardens’ staff are able to continually soften the end-of-life process thanks to a generous donation from the Rotary Club of Nanaimo.

The long-term care facility, which received a $7,500 boost, offers palliative care carts, allowing clients and their families additional comfort and solace during a difficult time.

The carts contain a range of items to improve the quality of life for a resident’s final days, including books, candles, creams, and aromatherapy.

The donation will also go toward funding a permanent gazebo on-site, which will allow residents of the Northfield Rd. complex the chance to enjoy the outdoors year-round.
