Loaded revolver, knives and drugs found in pulled over car along Nanaimo Pwy.

NANAIMO — A man asleep at the wheel of a pulled over car in Lantzville was allegedly found in possession of a loaded hand gun.

RCMP Cst. Gary O’Brien says 35-year-old Richard Garnet Jackson was spotted asleep at the wheel on the Nanaimo Parkway near Ware Rd. around 2 a.m. on Thursday, April 15.

The officer checking the car saw what turned out to be a loaded black revolver on the front passenger side floor. Police allege knives, break-in tools and a small amount of suspected fentanyl was also found in the car.

Police said Jackson isn’t the owner of the firearm.
