Man in custody after allegedly trying to run over Nanaimo Mountie
NANAIMO — Tips from the public were “instrumental” in arresting a man who refused to pull over for police in south Nanaimo.
RCMP staff sgt. John Blaise said the incident started Wednesday morning when a man driving a suspicious vehicle wasn’t willing to stop for police in the Old Victoria Rd. – View St. area.
Blaise said an officer pulled behind the suspect vehicle on a dead-end road.
“(The suspect) put the vehicle in reverse and tried to run over our member.”
