Dump truck strikes power lines on Old Victoria Rd. for second time in a month
NANAIMO — A local contracting company is having a bad case of déjà vu.
A Milestone Equipment Contracting dump truck snagged power lines along Old Victoria Rd. near Seventh St. late Friday morning after Nanaimo Fire Rescue said the truck’s bucket didn’t appear to be lowered while traveling.
Two power poles snapped as a result of the incident.
On May 25, another Milestone dump truck with a raised bed connected with power lines at the same location, causing a power outage for around 1,500 BC Hydro customers.
