Nanaimo’s popular water parks spraying again

NANAIMO — Valves are opening up for the summer to cool down youngsters at Nanaimo’s water parks.

The seasonal institution will see the City’s three main spray parks open daily between 9 a.m and 8 p.m. between Thursday, June 18.

The City hopes the spray parks will be open until the end of September.

COVID-19 guidelines are for physical distancing and sanitation purposes are posted at the spray parks located at Harewood Centential Park, Deverill Square Park and Departure Bay Kiwanis Park.

A smaller spray feature will also be operational at Mansfield Park.

Users are advised to bring their own hand sanitizer or wipes.

Water used at Nanaimo spray park is fresh and not recycled, according to the City.

Nanaimo’s water parks typically open annually around May long weekend, but were delayed this year to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
