NANAIMO — Each week we feature animals currently awaiting adoption at the Nanaimo SPCA.

Thankfully there are no animals currently in care, so we’re taking a look at animals which were adopted and have found their forever homes.

Girlie Girl is a queen and a spoiled cat. She was adopted from the Cat Nap Society eight years ago and has ruled the roost ever since.

“She adores my husband and ignores me (unless she wants to sleep in my lap),” owner Carol-Anne Chemko told us.

“My husband and her have a special bond and they keep me laughing during these crazy times. She follows him around like a shadow and cries when he goes out without her.”

More than 700 animals were adopted from the Nanaimo SPCA in 2019.

You can read about all the great animals adopted from the Nanaimo SPCA here.

As part of our Pet of the Week feature, we’re asking owners to send us photos and some details about their adorable adopted animals to the email address below.
