Crash shuts down Highway 4 in Whiskey Creek

PARKSVILLE — A crash on Hwy. 4 in Whiskey Creek at Clarke Rd. delayed traffic following a motor vehicle incident Wednesday afternoon.

Drive BC confirmed the highway re-opened to single-lane alternating traffic at about 4 p.m. Wednesday after the highway was shut down entirely with no detour available.

Oceanside RCMP confirmed a serious incident had taken place, but no further details were immediately available.

Witnesses at the scene reported a chopper landed at the site.

More details will be provided when they become available.
