NANAIMO — A motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital in Victoria with life-threatening injuries following an incident on Terminal Ave. downtown Monday afternoon.

RCMP responded to the area near the Wentworth St. intersection around 3:30 p.m. on Monday, March 16 and immediately shut down all traffic in both directions between Comox Rd. and Commercial St.

Cst. Gary O’Brien told NanaimoNewsNOW police are still investigating and haven’t determined a cause.

“Far too early,” O’Brien said. “All we know is that the intersection closed and the motorcycle operator has got life threatening injuries while minimal injuries were sustained by the driver of the other car.”
