Clippers Blank Grizzlies 4-0

COLWOOD – A strong first period gave the Clippers a 4-0 win over the Victoria Grizzlies.

The first BCHL goal for Zack Dallazanna got Nanaimo off on the right foot, and power play markers by Josh Bourne and Kyler Kovich gave the Clippers a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes.

Kovich finished off a rush by Josh Bourne in the third period to cap the scoring.

Zach Bennett made 38 saves for his second career BCHL shutout, and both of those have come in his last three starts.

Nanaimo has won four consecutive games and at 15-6-1-1 the Clippers have a four point lead atop the Island Division.

Their next game is at home on Nov. 13 against the Alberni Valley Bulldogs.

That night Nanaimo will also recognize alumni Matt Irwin by making him the first name on the Clippers new Wall of Honour.
