Arrest warrant issued after Nanaimo romance scammer allegedly breaches probation
NANAIMO — An arrest warrant has been issued for a former Nanaimo man well known for duping several woman out of more than $13,000.
Nanaimo RCMP Cst. Gary O’Brien said Jordan David Shepherd, 36, is wanted for breaching the terms of his probation in the Victoria area between Aug. 14 and Sept. 12, 2019.
Shepherd was sentenced in May of last year to four-and-a-half months in prison and two-years probation after he pleaded guilty to seven fraud charges for offences committed in 2017.
In all of the cases, Shepherd told the women he needed to borrow money and asked them to cash cheques from a non-existent company called On the Rocks Surveying.
