NANAIMO — Local RCMP hope the community can help give two criminals their just desserts.

The Nanaimo waterfront confectionery Just Desserts was robbed early Saturday, July 6 around 5:15 a.m.

Cst. Gary O’Brien said officers found the front door of the store pried open and a cash register taken. The desserts inside were untouched.

Numerous security cameras in the area captured images of the two suspects fleeing through the back of the shop into the Pioneer Parkade.

“We’ve sent these photos internally and not had any luck identifying these two individuals,” O’Brien said. “We’re hoping the public can assist us so these two individuals can just their just desserts.”

O’Brien said it was interesting the suspects chose to broke into a store along Nanaimo’s waterfront “because the seawall is notorious for the number of cameras positioned throughout the area.”

Anyone with information is urged to call Nanaimo RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
