Advice from BC Ferries as busy long weekend arrives
NANAIMO — Travellers should be prepared to navigate one of the busiest weekends of the year if they’re planning on sailing with BC Ferries.
The company’s Deborah Marshall said extra sailings will help ease the pressure.
“We have added 85 extra sailings on the busiest routes in the fleet and that does include 15 extra sailings between Departure Bay and Horseshoe Bay.”
Marshall said traffic is typically busiest on Friday, May 19 leaving the Mainland and on Monday when travellers head back the other way. She said it could be difficult for people to guarantee a spot on a particular sailing if they haven’t already done so.
