Man tells judge ‘I’m a walking weapon’ during strange sentencing
NANAIMO — A Parksville man told a judge his martial arts background should require his entire body to be included in a weapons ban handed down on him.
James Rocket Yandt, 59, made the comment as he was convicted during an unusual sentencing hearing in provincial court in Nanaimo Friday.
He pleaded guilty to several charges linked to an altercation with another man on a Parksville property on June 10, 2018.
Yandt was credited for 123 days served behind bars prior to being sentenced and given one-year probation.
