Sep 28, 2017 | 1:54 PM

NANAIMO — There’s new leadership at the Nanaimo Port Authority.

Ewan Moir, 56, was tasked by the NPA board of directors to head the organization as their president and CEO starting Oct. 10.

In a news release, Moir is described as having a long career of international senior management experience.

“His people-focused leadership style, vast industry expertise and exceptional business development skills will serve to build on the excellent foundation already established at NPA,” Port Authority chair Moira Jenkins said.

The release stated Moir’s priority is to engage the Port’s community partners, including the City and Snuneymuxw First Nation, to develop a relationship ensuring all members with an interest in the activities of the Port work together for the future.

Moir is wrapping up his role as president and CEO of Pacific BioEnergy Corporation in Vancouver.

He’s replacing the retiring Bernie Dumas, who spent nine years as president and and CEO of the NPA to cap a 40-year career in the transportation industry.
