Tour de Rock riding through Nanaimo Sunday & Monday

NANAIMO — Drivers can expect some minor delays during their weekend travels, and potentially into the Monday morning commute.

Riders from the annual Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock will travel from Parksville, down Hwy. 19, and into the city on Sunday, Sept. 27, making stops at two central Nanaimo businesses before a gala dinner at the Coast Bastion Hotel in the evening.

The group’s presence will be much more noticeable on Monday, Sept. 28.

Riders and their support convoy will ride to Lantzville’s Aspengrove School for an 8:45 a.m. arrival, then to the Nanaimo RCMP detachment, where mid-Island rider and Cst. Josh Waltman is expected to lead the group.
