Planned Parksville seasonal shelter receives key endorsement
PARKSVILLE — Planning is heating up for a cold weather dry seasonal shelter in Parksville.
Parksville City Council voted unanimously for an empty lot behind 632 Pioneer Cres. at Parksville’s south end as a preferred location for a 10-bed shelter by way of a temporary use permit.
The applicant, Shayla Day, chair of Oceanside Homeless Task Force, is slated to work with City of Parksville staff to complete a temporary permit for the service of pre-screened clientele.
