UPDATE: Sept 1, 10:00 a.m.: BC Ferries has cancelled the 4:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. sailings out of Nanaimo’s Departure Bay for Tuesday, Sept. 1, along with their corresponding return trips from Vancouver’s Horseshoe Bay, due to ongoing mechanical issues on the Queen of Cowichan.
A supplementary round trip from Departure Bay at 7:15 p.m. to Tsawwassen has been added for Tuesday.
BC Ferries said they expect all sailings on the Queen of Oak Bay to proceed as scheduled.
BC Ferries said their engineering team is currently working to repair the vessel, with the Wednesday, Sept. 2, 6:15 a.m. sailing from Nanaimo’s Departure Bay at risk of being cancelled, as of early Tuesday afternoon.
