Driver in crash with plane in northern B.C. says he ‘shouldn’t be here’
PRINCE GEORGE — The driver of a vehicle struck by a plane as it made an emergency landing on a British Columbia road says he knows he’s lucky to be alive.
Prince George, B.C., resident Jaime Pawliuk says he only suffered cuts and minor whiplash, but given the severity of the crash that sent a thick metal rod spearing through his backseat at chest height, he “shouldn’t be here.”
Police have confirmed the driver of the other vehicle struck died in the crash.
Pawliuk posted photos to social media late Thursday showing his red Ford SUV with its glass roof twisted and mangled from the plane’s impact.
