Man viciously assaulted in downtown Nanaimo drug related attack
NANAIMO — Swarmed and beaten for drug dealing on enemy territory, a man took responsibility for his role in a downtown Nanaimo attack.
Ronald Douglas Arndt was sentenced last week at provincial court in Nanaimo for a pair of charges after he and three unidentified assailants cornered a man in the Vancouver Island Conference Centre parkade on Gordon St. this past March 3 just before 6 a.m.
Parkade surveillance footage showed a second masked individual stabbing the victim, while Arndt landed a series of punches to the downed victim.
Another aggressor was also seen on video punching the outmatched victim, who scrambled to safety to the nearby Courtyard by Marriott Nanaimo hotel.
