‘He was stabbed pretty good:’ one hospitalized after downtown Nanaimo altercation
NANAIMO — One person was taken to hospital with what police describe as serious injuries following a stabbing in the city’s downtown.
Emergency crews were called to Port Place Shopping Centre, where they found one person suffering from a stab wound near the downtown bus exchange along Front St. on Thursday, June 25, just before 9 p.m.
Police believe the altercation occurred between unhoused individuals on the covered benches on the south side of the shopping centre.
Nanaimo RCMP Res. Cst. Gary O’Brien told NanaimoNewsNOW a 37-year-old man was stabbed in the arm, with bystanders quickly responding with emergency first aid.
