School District hires first female Superintendent

The Pacific Rim School District has hired their first female superintendent.

School District 70’s Board of Education promoted Dr. Jaslene Atwal to be the new CEO starting September 1st.

Atwal is currently the Director of Instruction – Human Resources and Health and Safety with the Pacific Rim School District.

She replaces Peter Klaver who recently retired after 29 years with SD #70, holding the Assistant Superindendent and Secretary-Treasurer roles before being name Superintendent in December 2024.
