NANAIMO — The Clippers now have two 4-0 shutouts in three games in their second round series with the Prince George Spruce Kings.

After taking the first two games in the north, Nanaimo returned home and blanketed the Spruce Kings.

Eliot Seguin-Lescarbeau pitched a 26 save shutout and the Clippers built up their lead by scoring in every period.

Jack Rimmer scored in the first period, Tanner Bruender tallied in the second and Blake Jones added another marker in the third period.

A late empty netter from Max Lapointe sealed the Game 3 victory.

Nanaimo did not have a power play and went 4/4 on the penalty kill.

The final shots finished 26-25 for Prince George.

The Clippers have built up a 3-0 series lead for the third round in a row.

In the opening round against Alberni Valley, Nanaimo went on to win in five games.

Then in round two the Cowichan Valley Capitals came storming back to force a Game 7.

The Clippers can clinch a spot in the BCHL final with a win in Game 4 on May 6.

If Nanaimo fails to close out the series they’ll head back to PG for Game 5 on Friday, May 8.
