Alberni man sentenced to prison

A young Port Alberni man will spend the next 9 1/2 years in prison after he sexually assaulted four underaged girls.

Loki Tchir was accusued of stalking young girls on Snapchat, bribing them with alcohol, money, and drugs, then recording them having sex.

Originally facing 17 different charges, the 26-year old pled guilty to four counts of sexual interference and a breach.

Both Crown Counsel and Defence said it was a significant sentence for significant allegations.

Once released he will be banned from social media for 15 years, and will be on the sex offender registry for life.

At his sentencing on Friday, March 28th, Tchir apologized to his victims, their families and the community.
