Canada’s Alexis Guimond wins para ski gold at World Cup stop in Austria
SAALBACH — Canadian para skier Alexis Guimond won gold in the men’s standing downhill race at a World Cup stop Wednesday.
Guimond, from Gatineau, Que., finished first in a time of 54.91 seconds to narrowly beat France’s Arthur Bauchet (54.95).
Robin Cuche of Switzerland (55.27) was third.
Guimond, who finished third in a race Tuesday, picked up his first World Cup gold in 18 career downhill races.
