Clippers win in OT despite playing from behind against Surrey
SURREY — For much of the Clippers game against the Surrey Eagles it looked like the BCHL’s worst team may be poised to post an upset.
But Nanaimo gritted out a 4-3 overtime win even though they never played with the lead.
Surrey had an excellent first period and jumped out to a 2-0 advantage on goals by Lucas Di Giantommaso and Easton Jacobs.
Both of the Clippers top goal scorers, Hayden Fechner and Elliot Perreault, notched their 11th goals of the season in the middle frame to even the game at 2-2.
