Summer studio tour running all weekend through Nanoose Bay

NANOOSE BAY — A wide array of artisans will be showcasing their work over the next two days across a variety of venues.

Organizers of the Nanoose Bay Studio Tour have partnered with local restaurants and around two dozen local artists for a self-guided trip through the community.

Spokesperson Kathy Meredith said 14 different studios will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Saturday, July 19 and Sunday, July 20.

“It’s a self-guided tour. There is an interactive Google map…people can do it in different directions depending on who they want to see. It tells them who it is and what they paint, or what they create in the way of pottery or woodwork.”

The event map is available on the Tour website.

Potters, glassblowers, woodworkers, jewellers, painters and metalworkers are all included.

Those without a fixed space in the community are being accommodated at some local restaurants.

Meredith added the event is as much about sharing art as it is promoting the Nanoose community as a whole.

“To show that Nanoose is a great, thriving little community where art and culture and nature all meld into one. We have four fantastic restaurants, we have two resorts here…so the culinary and the tourism alone, along with the artistic community, makes it such a great weekend event.”

Full details on the event are available on their website.
