UPDATE: April 13- The Nanaimo RCMP has reported 50-year-old Peter Jonathan Cameron Ludvigson turned himself in to police less than 24 hours after his photo and information were released.

Cst. Gary O’Brien said this is a good example of the essential relationship between police and the public.

“News releases play a critical role in sharing timely information, and we know they are widely followed by both the public and those we are seeking to locate. Public awareness and cooperation can make a meaningful difference in resolving matters swiftly and safely.”

Ludvigson was processed and released on conditions to attend court on April 14.

NANAIMO — April 9, 2026: Local Mounties are looking for a chronic offender wanted on several warrants, including for sexual assault.

Peter Jonathan Cameron Ludvigson, 50, is wanted on several outstanding warrants, including for theft under $5,000 and sexual assault.

Nanaimo RCMP say the sexual assault charge stems from an incident in late September 2025, where it’s alleged Ludvigson sexually assaulted a woman at a central Nanaimo gas station.

The theft charge stems from an incident in January, where it’s alleged he stole several jackets and pants from an Uplands Dr. clothing store.

He’s described as a Caucasian male, 5’11”, around 210 pounds, balding, with brown eyes and numerous tattoos.

Ludvigson has a lengthy criminal record, serving time for stealing thousands of dollars worth of goods from local big box stores, with over 50 theft convictions, mainly in the Nanaimo area.

Anyone with information into his whereabouts is asked to contact the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency number at 250-754-2345.

Ludvigson is scheduled to be in court next week.
