COLWOOD — A difficult first minute set the tone for a lopsided Game 2 loss for the Clippers in their series with Victoria.

The Grizzlies scored 21 seconds off the opening faceoff and then again 14 seconds later to put Nanaimo behind the eight ball.

The goals by Jacksenn Hungle and Nathan King paved the way for a long night.

By the ten minute mark of the first period Victoria had upped their lead to 3-0 on a Chase Pirtle shorthanded marker.

Malcolm Green and Cam Smith extended the lead with tallies in the middle frame.

Nanaimo made a third period push thanks to a Dylan Kinch power play goal and a banked in shot by Isa Parekh to close the gap to 5-2.

The Grizzlies clamped down again getting the final three goals from Drew Hockley, Pirtle with his second of the night and Ryan Watt.

Tyler Hodges took the loss in net while Oliver Auyeung-Ashton earned his second straight victory in the series.

The final shots were 59-38 for Victoria with Nanaimo going 1/6 on the man advantage and killing off their only penalty against.

Nanaimo is down 2-0 in the series heading back to Frank Crane Arena for Game 3 and 4 on April 9 and 10.
