Fontaine scored 14.000 in the women’s vault to beat England’s Abigail Martin (13.799) and Wales’ Abigail Roper (13.433).

The 16-year-old from Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Que., earned her third medal of the Games after taking bronze in the all-around final and helping Canada claim silver in the women’s team event.

“I’m really happy to be representing Canada and winning three medals is incredible,” she said.

Carroll, a 20-year-old from Saskatoon, won the men’s pommel horse title with a score of 15.000 to edge Scotland’s Reuben Ward (14.966) and Cameron Lynn (13.833).

“Breaking the 15 mark, it’s been a goal of mine and I’m glad I could finally do it,” Carroll said. “I did the routine of my life, I’m happy with the result and I’m feeling great right now.”

Dolci capped the day with gold in the men’s rings final for his third medal of the Games.

The 24-year-old scored 13.766 to edge fellow Laval, Que., native William Émard (13.600) as Canada finished one-two on the podium. Australia’s James Hardy took bronze with 13.500.

Dolci redeemed himself after settling for silver in the all-around final due to falling from the pommel horse twice. He then just missed the podium in the individual floor with another stumble.

“I fail many times in my life, non-stop. I fail every single day in training. That’s something I’m used to,” he said. “Whether you succeed or you fail, the next time you go up in the event, the goal is to do even better every single time.”

Canadian veteran Ellie Black of Halifax added silver in the women’s uneven bars, one day after winning her second career Commonwealth Games all-around title. René Cournoyer of Repentigny, Que., also earned silver in the men’s floor exercise.

The five-day gymnastics competition wraps Tuesday at Glasgow International Arena.

In weightlifting, Ann-Sophie Taschereau of Plessisville, Que., claimed silver in the women’s 58-kilogram category while Rebeka Groulx of Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, Que., won bronze in the women’s 53kg event.

Canada added a pair of medals in Para athletics.

Michael Barber of Victoria finished second in the men’s 1,500-metre T20 final with a time of 4:01.84, and Zachary Gingras of Markham, Ont., won bronze with a personal best of 11.55 seconds in the men’s 100 T38 final.

Canada now owns 21 medals — seven gold, eight silver, six bronze — to rank third behind Australia and England.

In other results, the Canadian men’s and women’s wheelchair basketball teams fell to 1-2 in pool play with respective losses to Australia.

The Canadian men lost 20-12 to defending champion Australia before the women’s team dropped a 12-10 decision in overtime.
