NANAIMO — Local Mounties are searching for a man accused of stealing and setting fire to a truck.

Police allege 31-year-old Jordan Brian Mackie worked with another person, Tyson James Warner, to steal a landscaping truck and trailer from a company yard in Nanaimo’s south end in November 2023.

The truck was later discovered in wooded areas southwest of Nanaimo, ditched and burned. Police Dog Services were able to track the pair down and arrest them.

Charges of possession of stolen property, theft over $5,000 and arson were laid against the pair.

Mackie, along with Warner, appeared in court shortly after the incident. However, Mackie has since missed subsequent court dates and Nanaimo RCMP has issued a warrant for his arrest.

Police note Warner is before the courts and cooperating with the judicial process.

Mackie is described as 5’9″ tall, 170 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. The attached picture is recent.

Anyone with information regarding Mackie’s whereabouts is asked to contact Nanaimo RCMP at 250 754 2345.
