NANAIMO — Search efforts continue to try and find a missing Errington woman.

Oceanside RCMP and Arrowsmith Search and Rescue continue leading the effort to locate 45-year-old Sara Sherry who hasn’t been seen since in just over a week.

A grey Nissan pickup truck believed to have last been driven by Sherry was found in a ditch on Friday, Feb. 23, around 15 metres off a logging road near Hwy. 19 and NW Bay Logging Rd.

“The area where the truck was located is a popular weekend destination for back country enthusiasts and search crews are actively searching the area through day and night,” Oceanside RCMP Sgt. Shane Worth said. “We are asking for those out there this weekend to be on the lookout for Sara.”

Search efforts in the area of the truck continued into the night time hours on Friday, however no trace of her was located.

Arrowsmith Search and Rescue, along with help from other volunteers are continuing their efforts on Saturday.

Sherry, from Errington, was last seen during the early evening hours of Feb. 15, driving the grey pickup along Hwy. 19 near NW Bay Logging Rd.

She was reported missing by her family two days later after being unable to contact her.

Police said at the time it was unusual for Sherry to be out of contact with family for an extended period of time.

She is described as 5’3″ tall, 120 pounds with blonde hair and green eyes.

Anyone with information on Sherry’s whereabouts is asked to contact Oceanside RCMP at 250 248 6111.
