BC Ferries gearing up for busy Easter long weekend by adding extra sailings
NANAIMO — In anticipation of a very busy Easter long weekend, BC Ferries has added a number of extra sailings on their busiest routes.
Ferries’ spokesperson Deborah Marshall said to meet the higher demand, additional crossings were added to their three busiest routes between April 6 and 11.
“That would be Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay, Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay, as well as Horseshoe Bay over to the Sunshine Coast. We’re also working very hard with mitigation plans in place to ensure we are able to deliver all of the sailings and guard against any last-minute service interruptions.”
It equals 128 extra sailing between Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay, 42 extra sailings between Horseshoe Bay and Departure Bay, and 16 extra sailings between Horseshoe Bay and Langdale.
