NANAIMO — Police believe the same man was involved in two violent incidents involving a gun and knife on back-to-back days early last month in Nanaimo.

Jordan Reginald White is facing four charges from a Dec. 9 incident which occurred in the early morning hours at a Bowen Rd. house opposite Beban Park. Charges include aggravated assault and three weapons-related offences.

One person was injured in the shooting and required emergency first aid from police, who stabilized him until paramedics were able to be on scene. The victim suffered gunshot wounds, resulting in amputation of the right leg above the knee.

Police said at the time they believed the gunman left in a vehicle, but they didn’t consider it a driveby shooting. They also said it was “a targeted, isolated incident.”

Nanaimo Mounties allege White was involved in a home invasion and violent stabbing a day after the Bowen Rd. shooting on Dec. 10 at an apartment on Albert St.

White is facing charges of assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, break and enter and disguising face with intent to commit offence from the incident.

Nanaimo RCMP reported the victim in the Albert St. home invasion was stabbed multiple times and beaten up, resulting in serious but non-life threatening injuries.

He was known to the assailants involved, police said.

White’s arrest for his alleged role in the Albert St. home invasion and assault arose following a search warrant executed on a Murray St. property in Nanaimo’s Harewood neighbourhood on Dec. 12.

The Murray St. home was an address which White allegedly had ties to.

He appeared in court on Friday, Jan. 20 regarding the two incidents, along with a third incident from May 30, 2022 in which charges of assault with a weapon, mischief, break and enter and weapons possession laid against him.

White remains in custody.
