PENTICTON — A pair of Nanaimo Clipper standouts have shown once more they’re among the BCHL’s best.

Forward Kai Daniells, along with defenceman Ethan Mistry represented the team at the BCHL’s All-Star weekend in Penticton, with the game itself on Friday, Jan. 20 and a skills competition and outdoor 3-on-3 tournament the following day.

The pair joined Clippers head coach Colin Birkas on Team West for the league’s all-star game, falling 6-2 against Team East, with Daniells and Mistry both getting on the scoresheet.

Daniells scored a late second period goal to get West on the board, while Mistry had the lone assist on a mid-third period marker.

Both Daniells and Mistry combined to play for Team Courtnall in the 3-on-3 tournament, making it to the final before falling to Team Turris in the championship game.

The skills competition, 3-on-3 tournament and alumni game featuring among others, former NHL’ers Scott Niedermayer and Kyle Turris, were all held at a brand new outdoor rink in Penticton.

Light snow fell throughout parts of the day and into the evening as players skated.

Daniells, Mistry and Birkas will rejoin their team in Nanaimo on Sunday and begin to get ready for a pair of games at the Frank Crane Arena, hosting Powell River beginning Friday, Jan. 27.
