NANAIMO — The Clippers had a bit of a shaky start but very quickly found their ‘A’ game in a 4-2 win against Cowichan.

The Capitals scored a minute and a half into the game but once Nanaimo responded less than two minutes later they never looked back.

Ethan Mistry scored just before the three minute mark of the opening period and then Tyler Wishart notched a power play goal before the end of the first to put the Clippers in the drivers seat.

Charles Tardif had the only tally of the second period to increase the lead.

Late in the third Logan Camp brought the Capitals close with an extra attacker before an empty net goal by Willyam Gendron iced the game.

Aidan Campbell was strong in net with 24 saves, while the Clippers fired 30 shots at McCoy Bidewell.

Nanaimo was 1/3 on the man advantage and 2/2 killing penalties.

The Oct. 7 three stars were:

1) Ethan Mistry 2) Charles Tardif 3) Brody Waters

The victory improved Nanaimo’s record to 4-1 with another home game on the horizon Oct. 9 at 2 p.m. versus Langley.
