Longstanding Coombs Fair features livestock, entertainment & food

COOMBS — A focal point in the Oceanside region this weekend is the Coombs Fair, combining agriculture, entertainment and the arts.

Live music, performers, livestock, vendors, food trucks, horticulture exhibits and several other attractions take over the Coombs Fairgrounds and Event Centre on Ford Rd.

The Coombs Fair happens on Saturday, Aug. 13 and Sunday, Aug. 14 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The event is staged by the non-profit Arrowsmith Agricultural Association in multiple indoor and outdoor venues.

A family and children’s zone is established, while a magician will be on hand between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. both days.

Competitions and prizes in a variety of disciplines will be take place, including for various livestock, fruits, food production, crafts and floral arrangements.

Admission rates:

  • Adults: $8 (or $14 for a two-day pass)
  • Children 6-12 y/o: $6
  • Seniors and children under 5: free

Parking is available by donation on the fairgrounds.
