NANAIMO — The Clippers dropped the first two games of the 2022 Fred Page Cup losing 3-1 to the Penticton Vees in Game 2.

Penticton has not yet trailed in the series and they grabbed a first period lead in the second game thanks to a rebound marker by Beanie Richter.

Kai Daniells equalized for Nanaimo in the second period.

He is now on a six game point streak and has both Nanaimo goals in the series.

A point shot by Owen Simpson seven minutes into the third period vaulted Penticton back in front and they sealed the game with an empty netter from Jackson Nieuwendyk.

The Vees outshot the Clippers 32-19 with Kaeden Lane recording the victory over Nanaimo’s Cooper Black.

Nanaimo was 0/3 on the man advantage while the Vees were 0/1.

The series now shifts to Nanaimo for Games 3 and 4 on May 17 and 18 at 7 p.m.

The Clippers are 6-0 on home ice while the Vees enter Game 3 on a 14 game playoff win streak.
