Nanaimo RCMP ask for public’s help in aggravated assault investigation

NANAIMO — Police hope the public can help piece together what led to an apparent serious assault on a motorcyclist in downtown Nanaimo.

Nanaimo RCMP stated emergency responders were called to the site of a downed black Harley Davidson motorcycle at the intersection of Esplanade and Victoria Cres on Wednesday, April 20 shortly after midnight.

Paramedics assumed the rider had been involved in a collision, before quickly realizing the man had been the victim of a serious assault.

The 34-year-old Nanaimo man was flown to Victoria General Hospital and is now in stable condition.
