NANAIMO — It’s been a BCHL season full of delays and the latest sees the Clippers in the league’s COVID protocol.

As of Jan. 8 the Clippers have suspended all team activities for five days.

Games Saturday, Jan. 8 in Alberni Valley and Wednesday, Jan 12 at home to Victoria have been postponed as a result.

Of the nine teams in the Coastal Division Nanaimo is the fifth to enter COVID-19 protocol since the league resumed play after the Christmas break.

Cowichan Valley, Victoria, Powell River and Langley have also had to postpone games.

The Clippers endured a topsy-turvy week to open 2022.

After team’s 7-0 win in Coquitlam on Jan. 2 ferry cancelations forced the team to stay overnight in the lower mainland.

Shortly after returning home the team learned their Friday, Jan. 7 was cancelled because of the Rivermen entering a similar COVID protocol.

It was later re-scheduled for Jan. 14.

Unless there are further changes to the league schedule the Jan 14 contest will be the next game on the Clippers calendar.
