NANAIMO — A generous donation of hand-crafted blankets will help keep invaluable members of the Nanaimo RCMP detachment warm this holiday season.

Unique homemade crocheted blankets for all four members of the detachment’s Police Dog Service Unit were made by Sandy Clark, a skilled crocheter and animal lover.

Nanaimo RCMP Cst. Gary O’Brien stated in a news release the dog’s handlers were grateful to receive the blankets.

“Each commented that it was so heartwarming to think that a complete stranger would devote so much time and energy for their beloved dogs, very impressive.”
