Nov 19, 2021 | 10:12 PM

NANAIMO — The Clippers won their second game in a row with a 3-1 decision over the Wenatchee Wild.

Scoring and shots were hard to come by with Cooper Black and Wild goalie Andy Vlaha both looking sharp throughout the night.

Nanaimo got a power play goal from Tristan Fraser in the first period and then Andrew Noel broke a 1-1 in the third before Kai Daniells iced the game with an empty netter.

The Clippers were outshot 29-21 with both teams going 1/3 on the power play.

The Nov. 19 three stars were 1) Tristan Fraser 2) Andrew Noel 3) Cooper Black

Nanaimo now has an 11-6 record and sit one point behind the division leading Langley Rivermen in the Coastal standings.

When Nanaimo scores the first goal this season they are an impressive 10-1.

The win over Wenatchee was the Clippers first over an Interior opponent this year.

Their out of conference record is now 1-4.

Nanaimo is scheduled to visit Merritt and Prince George on Nov. 26 and 27 but the status of those games is unknown because of a provincial state of emergency and poor highway conditions in the Fraser Valley and BC Interior.
