NANAIMO — The Clippers became the third team in a row to get shutout by the Alberni Valley Bulldogs.

Hobie Hedquist made 35 saves for his third consecutive shutout.

The Bulldogs scored a goal in each period en route to a 3-0 victory.

Josh Zary, Finn Brown and Ethan Bono scored on Clipper netminder Jayden Shull who was named the game’s second star.

The final shots were 41-35 for the Bulldogs on a night with a large portion of the game played five on four.

Nanaimo was 0/6 on the man advantage while Alberni went 1/7.

The Clippers were playing without forwards Brody Waters, who served the first game of a three game suspension, and Keighan Gerrie who suffered an undisclosed injury Nov. 5 against Penticton.

Before the game the Clippers made a trade with the Merritt Centennials shipping out forward Luke Lavery in exchange for Walker Erickson.

Erickson is expected to make his debut Nov. 10 when Nanaimo visits Cowichan Valley.
