QUALICUM BEACH — There’s a change at the top for the Town of Qualicum Beach.

Daniel Sailland announced his resignation from the Chief Administrative Officer job on Wednesday, Oct. 20 after seven years in the position. His final day in Qualicum will be Sunday, Nov. 14.

“His ability to develop strategic solutions, build teams and manage change, along with his passion to inspire others, has resulted in millions of dollars in grants for our community,” Mayor Brian Wiese said in a statement.

Wiese also touted Sailland’s climate initiatives and “cutting edge policies and frameworks” which have inspired similar action across the province.

Sailland will assume the Chief Administrative Officer role at the Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District.

It’s a position which was vacated when Douglas Holmes was hired by the Regional District of Nanaimo as its CAO.

“Although I will miss working with so many incredible people in Qualicum Beach, I am excited to take on this new role with the ACRD, and I look forward to working within the vast diversity that the Alberni-Clayoquot region offers,” Sailland said in the release.
