PARKSVILLE — More COVID-19 exposure events are confirmed in the Parksville Qualicum school district.

School District 69 confirmed two members of the Kwalikum secondary school community recently tested positive

The first exposure event occurred March 29 through 31, with a second from March 29 through April 1.

Anyone deemed to have had a high-risk exposure with the individuals were told to isolate following Island Health’s contact tracing process.

“If you have not received a phone call from public health officials, please continue to attend school and monitor for COVID-19 symptoms as per BCCDC guidelines,” a release from the school district said.

Kwalikum secondary reported COVID-19 exposures in November, the first SD69 school to do so. Since then the district has had just a handful of exposure events.

Wellington and Nanaimo District secondary schools remain on Island Health’s school exposure list following events in late March.
