Snuneymuxw First Nation gas bar set to open for business

NANAIMO — A Snuneymuxw First Nation (SFN) owned and operated service station will welcome its first customers Friday afternoon.

The four pump gas station and convenience store will employ five workers to start, according to Petroglyph Development Corporation CEO Ian Simpson.

The SFN venture on MacMillan Rd. near Duke Point Hwy. will be open daily 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

SFN Chief Mike Wyse previously told the band’s website the business would be a major boost for their small community south of Nanaimo.
