NANAIMO — Another week, another lucky lotto winner for the Nanaimo area.

Cory Anderson is $100,000 richer after scratching a winning Tripling Red 7s lotto ticket. Anderson purchased the ticket from the Circle K convenience store on Departure Bay Rd.

Anderson described the win as “amazing” and celebrated the windfall with his girlfriend over a steak dinner.

He plans to invest the money and put it towards the purchase of a new home.

In the short term however, Anderson said he wanted to get all the fluids changed on his truck.

For selling the winning ticket, the Circle K convenience store received a $500 prize.

Their win comes four months after a fire sparked from a flare destroyed the front area of the store and forced it to close for several weeks.

Nanaimo has had a lucky streak for lotto winners in recent years.

Sixteen people have won over $500,000 from tickets purchased in the Nanaimo area since 2010.
