PARKSVILLE — A disagreement between four people in Errington resulted in one man being charged with multiple drug and weapons offences.

Oceanside RCMP responded to a home on Smithers Rd. in Errington during the dinner hour on Thusday, Sept. 3.

Cpl. Jesse Foreman said they were alerted by someone nearby about an argument taking place.

“They believed due to some of the things being said it was over some sort of drug collection or debt,” Foreman said. “We also heard there was a firearm used in the commission of this offence, in other words it was brandished towards over people.”

During the arrest and investigation to follow, police easily found illegal items in the home and went about obtaining a search warrant.

Further searches conducted under the warrant discovered an amount of illicit drugs, including heroin, as well as cash and a number of replica firearms.

Foreman said they were designed to shoot pellets, not bullets, but looked authentic.

A 35-year-old Errington man was arrested and later charged with pointing a firearm, possession of a firearm for dangerous purpose, uttering threats and possession of heroin.

He was released from custody on a promise to appear in court in November. No charges were laid against the others involved.
