OTTAWA — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced new restrictions in an effort to suppress the ongoing COVID-19 health crisis.

Trudeau announced Canada is denying people who aren’t Canadian citizens or permanent residents from entering the country. Exceptions to the order feature American citizens and immediate family members of Canadian citizens.

The Prime Minister also announced airlines will ban all travelers showing symptoms of the virus from the ability to enter Canada.

Beginning Wed, March 18 Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Montreal international airports will be the only places accepting international flights. Trudeau said the order won’t apply to commerce or trade.
