Snow Day for public schools and university students in Nanaimo

NANAIMO – Schools are closed in SD 68 Nanaimo/Ladysmith on Wednesday.

Environment Canada is calling for 10-15 cm of snow.

Vancouver Island University is closed as well and so are public schools in Parksville/Qualicum.

There will be no garbage collection Wednesday in Nanaimo or the Regional District and city crews are working on clearing primary routes only in the morning.

Rerouting is in effect for Nanaimo Transit buses for Route 5,6 & 99 and other routes may be affected throughout the morning.

Boys and girls Clubs for Nanaimo-Ladysmith are closed as well as NACL, Actions Day Program and the Life Long Learning Program.

Nanaimo Parks Recreation and Culture facilities are open (scheduled programs cancelled) for use and will be reassessed around noon.
