Prolific offender accused of Qualicum Beach crime spree

QUALICUM BEACH — Oceanside RCMP officers were led on quite the chase during an allegedly drunken crime spree.

Officers received numerous calls from Qualicum Beach business owners and shoppers on Wednesday, Nov. 27 about an apparently intoxicated woman causing a disturbance while shoplifting.

Colleen Maria Anderson, 41, was found by officers in north Qualicum Beach, reportedly in a car stolen from Campbell River on Nov. 25.

A release from Oceanside RCMP said items stolen from the Qualicum Beach shops were inside the car and she blew two times over the legal limit for alcohol.

At the time of her arrest, Anderson was wanted on three warrants from two different jurisdictions.

Her criminal record includes drug charges, property crime crimes and probation breaches on the Lower Mainland and in Courtenay.

Anderson remains in custody and next appears in court on Dec. 5, 2019.
